Assessment of Tutorial Services at Gugma Sa Kabataan Foundation, Incorporated

This study sought to determine the effects of the tutorial services at Gugma sa Kabataan Foundation, Incorporated. Specifically, it tried to identify the effects of the tutorial services to the tutees in terms of their studies and personal life; determine reasons of the tutors in participating the tutorial services, and; distinguish effects of the tutorial services among the tutors. The study made use of a descriptive research design and the main tool used in gathering the necessary data was a questionnaire checklist followed by an interview. Purposive sampling technique was used in selecting the respondents.The results showed that the tutorial services made the tutees more motivated to learn, participative in class discussion, and can easily follow direction and instruction of their teachers. In terms of the effects on their personal lives, they became more responsible, kind hearted, and increased their self-confidence. The student tutors find the program valuable and want to share their knowledge to the kids and it’s their way of serving the community. More so, the activity awakens their spirit of volunteerism and improves their teaching skills. The tutorial services at Gugma sa Kabataan Foundation, Incorporated had a positive effects on the tutees and the student tutors. The program enhanced the student tutors’ learning by combining theories with experience and feelings with actions.
