This study assessed the level of environmental awareness of the residents in Camaman-an Village, Cagayan de Oro City. The study used the descriptive method with survey questionnaire and interview guide as tools for data gathering. Findings reveal that the community residents were only moderately aware of the existing environmental laws and policies and solid waste management. The findings imply that the residents’ environmental awareness has not been fully translated into action as evidenced by the persistence of solid waste management problem which included improper garbage disposal and tire burning. The study recommends stringent implementation of the environmental ordinances and intensification of environmental efforts such as capacity building seminars.
