Online Counseling, its Perceived Familiarity and Acceptability among General Psychology Students

The study, which was conducted among the General Psychology students of Liceo de Cagayan University, examined the level of familiarity with and acceptance of online counseling. The study used the survey method with the questionnaire as a tool for data gathering. The data were statistically tested using weighted mean, t-test and Pearson r. The findings of the study are summarized as follows: (1) the respondents were not familiar with online counseling; (2) the respondents would slightly accept online counseling as a mode of securing professional guidance and assistance; (3) there was no significant difference in the respondents’ level of familiarity with and acceptance of online counseling when the respondents were grouped by gender; and (4) there was no significant relationship with and acceptance of online counseling.
