Emotional Intelligence: A Self-Assessment

This study aimed to assess the level of the emotional intelligence of teachers. This research was conducted in the College of Education of Liceo de Cagayan University. This study uses the descriptive correlation design. This study was conducted at Liceo de Cagayan University where the respondents were the full time teachers of the College of Education of the University. The researchers used the Emotional Intelligence Domain Questionnaire, this was based on the questionnaire formulated by Silver and Claret—www.silverandclaret.com. Percentage and Frequency Distribution was used in describing the profile of the respondents, while Weighted Arithmetic Mean was used to determine the level of emotional intelligence of the teacher-respondents. One-Way Anova was applied to determine the significant difference when the respondents are grouped according to their age, civil status, educational attainment and length of service. Finally, the result revealed that there is no significant difference when teacher-respondents are grouped according to their civil status, educational attainment and length of service.
