Motivational Factors of Multigenerational Workforce in the Department of Interior and Local Government

This thesis was designed to determine the Motivational Factors of Multigenerational Workforce in the Department of Interior and Local Government in Cagayan de Oro City. In context, the study sought to know the profile of respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status, and educational attainment, type of work and length of service. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used the qualitative and descriptive case study method. A personal interview was held with 10 Baby Boomers, 10 Generation X and 10 Generation Y. Data and information was collected through conducting surveys and interviews. Opinions indicated agreement and disagreement, concern and neglect, sympathy and antagonism. The study concluded that most of the respondents of Department of Internal and Local Government are experienced and older in the organization. They have stayed long for more than 32 years. There are more females and the majority of them are married. Most of the multigenerational employees are college degree graduates. Most of the total respondents say that the motivational factors they are enjoying are more on receiving monetary rewards and bonuses. However, on the motivational strategies of the multigenerational workforce, most of them prefer training and development encourage teamwork in their workplace, promotion and lastly is given recognition in their services.
