Instructional Pedagogy and Engagement Activities among the Students in the Selected Four Colleges

The study was conducted to determine the instructional pedagogy utilized by the faculty and the student’s engagement activities among the four selected colleges in Liceo de Cagayan University. It also aimed to determine the level of student’s engagement activities as to the instructional pedagogy used by the teachers in terms of lecture,  role playing, brain storming, peer partner learning, discussion, think-pair-share, cooperative learning, jigsaw, problem based learning or problem solving and structured controversy and test the significant difference between the student’s level of engagement activities as to the instructional pedagogy used by the teachers when grouped by the teacher’s profile and student’s profile.This study utilized the descriptive survey design. It was given to the teachers and students of the four selected colleges of Liceo de Cagayan University. The instructional pedagogy used by the teachers are discussions which exhibited the highest mean. This is followed by lecture, peer learning, role playing, brainstorming, and cooperative learning. Whereas, think-pair-share manifested the lowest mean as to students’ engagement. Finally, length of years of teaching turned out to have significant difference between the students’ engagement as to the instructional pedagogy used by the teachers.
