Wellness Assessment among Physical Education College Students

This study determined the student’s wellness assessment of Physical Education in terms of their physical, nutritional, social, emotional, and intellectual aspects through participating in various physical activities. This study used the descriptive design using the survey method in gathering the data and information. Frequency and percentage were used in determining the personal profile of the respondents; to ascertain the wellness preferences weighted mean were used. The T-test and F-test that determined the significance of the independent variables and dependent variables. On the basis of the result of the study, it could be concluded that their Intellectual wellness assessment followed by emotional wellness assessment were high. On the other hand, the nutritional wellness was low. As to the wellness preferences of the respondents, the highest frequencies were obtained by dance classes and outdoor sports respectively. Moreover, the demographic profile of the respondents such as sex, age, religion, and course have no bearing on their wellness. The wellness of the student-respondents along the five dimensions were found to be very good. However, at an early age the respondents should be educated on the importance of proper diet to prevent health problems in the future. In addition, the personal profile of the respondents was not a differentiating factor on their wellness assessment.
