Organizational Support As Predictors of Work Attitudes Among Employees of the Comission on Audit, Region X

This study investigated the relationship of organizational support to work attitudes of the employees of the Commission on Audit, Region X.  Organizational support was measured regarding supervision, policies and administration and organizational climate while work attitudes was measured regarding job involvement and organizational commitment.  The following were the objectives of the study a) assessment of the employee’s perceived organizational support and work attitudes and b) to find out the indicators of organizational support which are significantly related to the work attitudes and c) determine the relationship of the respondents profile to organizational support and work attitudes. Thirty respondents were employed in the study.  Data were gathered through a standardized questionnaire and were treated using frequency, percentage, mean, multiple regression and Pearson correlation.  Results of the study showed that COA employees generally manifest favorable perception of organizational support as well as work attitudes.  Of the factors of organizational support, only the organizational climate is significantly related to job involvement while supervision, policies and administration and organizational climate are significantly related to organizational commitment.  Moreover, female respondents have a higher favorable perception of organizational support regarding supervision and are more committed to the organization.
