Colocasia esculenta Linn. or also known as Gabi/Taro, is used during ancient times for its curative properties and its corm and leaves as a staple food. This study focuses on investigating the anthelmintic activity of the ethanolic leaves extract of the plant against Ascaris suum in pigs. With the extract obtained, the researchers did the experiment by comparing the three concentrations (10%, 5%, and 1%) with the positive and negative control. Based on the results obtained, the three concentrations were able to kill a few Ascaris suum indicating that the extract somehow has an anthelmintic property. Between the positive and negative group, the former was able to exhibit an anthelmintic effect while the latter did not show any signs of mortality of the subject. Therefore, the extract is less potent than Mebendazole, which we used in the positive control.
