Syzigium cumini is commonly known as Duhat. This plant has been already studied for a series of pharmacological uses; among these is its action to reduce blood sugar level by stimulating the insulin concentration of the pancreas. Nonetheless, it stayed to be a crude material. The present study formulated its extract into a dosage form and produced into having an active ingredient amounting to 1g (1000mg), formulated as a 15g tablet. This was then evaluated according to its physical specificities about the common processes of the compendial requirements on directly compressed tablet formulation. The findings show that the formulated drug has shown comparable averages in the results. Therefore, the formulation can be used as a material for use in reducing blood sugar level for preclinical studies.
