Trichomonas vaginalis has been known to be one of the causes of sexually-transmitted disease. However, it has long been received much less consideration than other parasitic transmitted disease. The study looked into the incidence of Trichomonas vaginalis in Cagayan de Oro City. A descriptive research design was used involving Laboratory procedures. Clean catch random specimen were utilized to obtain urine samples. Purposive random sampling was employed in choosing the subjects. The selection was based on volunteering participants. An orientation was conducted to inform the volunteers and to guarantee confidentiality in exchange for their willful participation. The samples were collected and are examined under the microscope at low power objective microscope. The presence of Trichomonas vaginalis depends on whether motile and non-motile trophozoites are present in the microscopic field. The researchers found that none of the sixty (60) respondents exhibited positive results. The specimens submitted by the volunteers were found negative with any presence of Trichomonas vaginalis. Thus, it can be said that the healthcare intervention done by the City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro City to control the rise of sexually-transmitted diseases has been efficient. This is attributed to the weekly screening and monitoring procedures done by the City Health Office to control sexually-transmitted infections.
