The study sought to determine the serum uric acid level of the Third Year Medical Laboratory Science students of Liceo de Cagayan University. The descriptive research method was utilized to gather the respondent’s profile in terms of age and gender. The t test was used to determine the significant difference in the UA levels between male and female subjects while F test was used to test the significant difference of the UA levels among the different age group (18,19,20+). The subjects were dominantly female within the age range of 18-30 years old. Higher uric acid levels occur in the male subject because of their high protein diet as indicated from the responses during the interview. There is no significant difference in the uric acid level of the subjects when grouped according to age and gender. The researchers recommend the following: Proper management of diet, as excessive levels may result to gout, hypertension and kidney problems which may be detrimental to the health of the subjects who are Medical Laboratory students and are in their third year. Periodic monitoring of uric acid levels even among the fourth year students was also recommended.
