Incidence of Schistosoma Species Among Children of Purok-6 Barangay Bangcud, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon

This study aimed to determine the incidence of Schistosoma species among children as well as the risk factors in in a community in Bukidnon province. Stool and urine specimen were analyzed and found out to be negative for the presence of the parasitic ova in both stool and urine samples. Results of the study confirmed the absence of Schistosoma infection in the stool and urine sample of the subjects indicating that they were not infected with Schistosoma infection. Hence, there is no incidence of Schistosoma infection in the area despite the identified risk factors such as utilizing spring water as the source of drinking water and for bathing.
