The Presence of Parasitic Infections Among Crop Farmers of Barangay Laligan and Barangay Tongan-Tongan, Valencia City, Bukidnon

The purpose of this study was to determine the parasitic infection among crop farmers of barangay Laligan and Tongan-tongan, Valencia City Bukidnon. The study also compared the presence of parasitic infections among the subject farmers. A total of two hundred eleven subjects from barangay Laligan and barangay Tongan-tongan were tested for the presence of parasitic infections. The specimen collected was preserved with 10% Formaldehyde and then transported to Liceo de Cagayan University. Laboratory Analysis was done using Formol-Ether Concentration Technique and examined under a microscope.The study found that there is an incidence of parasitic infection among the subjects in the two barangays. Barangay Tongan-tongan has a greater prevalence of parasitic infections than barangay Laligan. There was a significant difference of the incidence among the two subject barangays as a result of the varying frequency count on the positive cases of parasitic infections.
