Effectiveness of Boardex in Improving Patient Care in Sala’am Hospital

Utilization of the Boardex is one of the efforts of the nursing administration of Sala’am Hospital to address the recurrent lapses of the nurses on certain services. Utilization of the Boardex is a system that encourages participative approach towards the patients. Several studies were conducted supporting claims that patientparticipation provides positive outcome of care. With the aid of the Boardex, nurses and patient shall work together to attain common goal which is for the health and wellness of the latter. The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the Boardex in improving the nursing services through reinforcing functional nursing services and promoting patient-participation to care. The study also will determine if there is a significant relationship of the patient-participation to the improvement of the nursing functional services. The study used the descriptive qualitative research method. A structured questionnaire is created and distributed to the respondents who are the staff nurses of Sala’am Hospital assigned in medical-surgical wards. The data were collated and was statistically analyzed through a descriptive and correlational analysis. The result implies that all indicators were positively responded by the respondents at the scale verbally expressed as “very effectiveâ€, therefore, the nursing services are said to have improved with the utilization of the Boardex. Meanwhile, there is a significant relationship between patient- participation and the nursing functional services.
