Problems of Jails in Provincial and City Jail, Cagayan de Oro City

This study was designed to show problems in jails in Cagayan de Oro City. In context, the study sought to answer the following aspects of the problems: (1) the profile of the respondent in terms of type of inmate either sentenced by final judgment or detention inmate, period of detention or commitment, gender, age, case sentence or pending; (2) the level of adequate access to health screening and evaluation, appropriate daily budget, causes of prison riots, the congestion, and level wanting to escape; (3) the majority of period of detention, type of inmates, gender of the inmates, ages of the inmates, and case sentence or pending among the inmates. The descriptive method of research used in the study is fact-finding study with adequate and accurate interpretation of the findings. It describes with emphasis on what actually exist as current condition, practices, situation or any phenomena. The researchers chose this method since the study focused on finding out the jails problems in Cagayan de Oro City.
