Perception on the Re-Implementation of Death Penalty among the Residents of Cagayan de Oro
The study sought to assess the perception on the re-imposition of death penalty among residents of Cagayan de Oro City. The independent variables were limited to age, gender, religion and educational attainment. The dependent variables are narrowed to re-imposition of death penalty among residents of Cagayan de Oro City. There were one hundred fifty (150) respondents of the study from barangay Carmen, barangay Kauswagan and barangay Lapasan. Moreover, frequency distribution was used to  determine the respondent’s personal data; T-test, and F-test were used to analyze the null hypothesis, and Weighted Mean was used to measure the perception on the re-imposition of death penalty among the respondents. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the respondents  were ages 41-50, female, college, and their religion Roman Catholic. For the perception of the respondents of the re-imposition of the death penalty the respondents rated the overall mean of 3.24 quantitative description of agree. The respondents manifest that there is a significant difference in their perception when they are grouped according to age, gender, religion and  educational attainment.  Therefore, the  null hypotheses were rejected.
