Extent of Implementation on the Standard Sanitary Practices set by the Department of Health in Selected Hotels of Cagayan de Oro City

This study utilized the descriptive survey method of research in determining the extent of implementation on the standard sanitary practices set by D.O.H in selected hotels of Cagayan de Oro City. Majority of the respondents belonged to 21-25 age brackets, stays at the hotel for 2 days occupying a De Luxe Room, mostly occupying a managerial position, and visits the hotel 1-5 times a month. Only one (1) was found to be rated “Highly Practiced†by the respondents, and that is Food Handling and Safety. The rest of the variables were found “practicedâ€. The Department of Health must strictly impose the rules and guidelines set for the hotel establishment operations to guarantee a high standard of sanitation among hotels. The four (4) selected hotels in Cagayan de Oro City namely Dynasty Court Hotel, Maxandrea Hotel, Pryce Plaza Hotel and VIP Hotel strengthen more their campaign towards sanitation and seek for more ways to improve their sanitary practices in order to provide good service and safety to their guests.
