Community Extension Services: Basis for Intervention

The study was conducted in one of the Liceo de Cagayan University’s adopted community- Talongan, Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City. This study utilized the descriptive research design. The main instrument used in gathering data was in the form of a questionnaire checklist followed an interview. The respondents of this study were the 32 families of the said barangay. This study applied the purposive-convenience sampling technique. In treating the data gathered, percentage and frequency distribution were employed in determining the profile of the respondents; the weighted mean was used in determining the extent of implementation and the problem encounter. The study yielded the following significant findings: As to the extent of the implementation of the services, programs and projects of the University to the adopted community the overall assessment of the beneficiaries was well implemented with health teaching exhibited the highest mean and augmentation for health service manifested the lowest mean. The overall assessment of the beneficiaries on the challenges encountered in the implementation of the community services of the University is “not a problem.” This indicates that there was a smooth implementation of the community services, programs, and projects in the adopted community as perceived by the beneficiaries.
